How to Catch a Cowboy in 10 Days - Kimberly Krey

Synopsis: Ann is headed to Montana to attend Cassie's ring ceremony. The fact that she's writing an article with the hope of getting noticed by a bgi publication is beside the fact. That the article is about how to get a guy to notice you might matter. Might. Trey is the quintessential cowboy who's loved and lost and has no real desire to get tangled up in a relationship. A weekend with a beautiful woman sounds just about right for him. No long term commitments means no heartache.

Review: A loosely connected sequel to Cassie’s Cowboy Crave. You don’t need to have read her story, but if it’s been a while you might enjoy reading their story again. It’s a good one so you’ll be glad you did.

Ann and Trey’s story is a sweet one. Maybe not my favorite of Krey’s books, but she’s a solid writer so it’s hard to go wrong, really. The story is fairly predictable. Ann waits too long to come clean, Trey finally falls in love again, they figure things out and get their HEA. So, everything you want in a light, easy, weekend romance.

The Lace Maker - Laura Frantz

Synopsis: Set in pre-revolutionary America, Elizabeth is betrothed to a wealthy gentleman. When the Patriots run her father out of Williamsburg, she finds herself alone and penniless. Noble is a Patriot and wary of his cousin's intended with her English leaning ties. When he learns she's been abandoned and left to fen for herself, he takes Elizabeth in. But, when she decides to leave his protection to support herself with her lacemaking, he soon finds that he's not at all ready to see her go.

Review: A truly beautiful story. Frantz tells an exciting, powerful tale of deception, courage, selflessness, and so much more. Noble is a fabulous Hero. He does everything right! Elizabeth is a daring, strong heroine who gives him a run for his money! Together they overcome terrific challenges and you're ever so glad to be along for their adventure.

I'm not particularly familiar with this era of American history so I'm not sure how accurate all of the details are. But, I was incredibly mesmerized by it. I was intrigued by this build up to the war and the events that lead up to it. Frantz does a beautiful job of re-creating that snapshot in history.

My only wish is that some of the scenes played out just a little longer and in a little more detail. This is rare for me. Often I'm complaining about how authors should have cut a scene and the meticulous detail by half. But, this was such a wonderful story I just wanted more of it! Truly a book not to be missed.

Check Me Out - Becca Wilhite

Synopsis: Greta is hoping to get a promotion in the small library she's working at. She has a best friend, Will, who sets her up with his cousin Mac. Mac is handsome and does and says and texts all the right things. But, Great begins to wonder why something doesn't seem right about their relationship. As she works to save her library from budget cuts, she also comes to realize Mac and Will may not be what they seem.

Review: A nicely written story. The love triangle is a little obvious but the resolution not so much. The plot thickens as Greta becomes a bit of an activist which lends some depth to the story. Will is a really great guy and you want him to win her heart. Greta is a darling heroine who manages to overcome several setbacks. Can't help but love Mac and his clever t-shirts and hope he gets his own HEA someday.
